I started off this episode thinking I wouldn’t have anything to talk about, little did I know …..

I discuss my training this week, Ragnar, my hotel choice for New Orleans, a search for lard for the apple pie, my daughter’s allergies and more. Things get interesting towards the end of the podcast when I find myself in a bit of a situation which leads to telling a few stories that may or may not involve a key to my house. I end the podcast with an impromptu haiku.

It's an Oscar nominated movie watching quest that Kim and Darth Vader attempt every year during the Oscar season where we see as many of the nominated movies as possible. This is our fifth year attending the AMC’s Best Picture Showcase, which is an all day movie marathon showing the 2013 Oscar nominees for best picture — one right after another. We discuss just about all of the nominated films, who we'd take out of the best actor category, and who we think is going to win for best picture. Welcome to the jungle! Kim's guest on the show (season 1, ep. 38) was Kristie (@KristieCranford ) to give her recap of the Rock n Roll Las Vegas Marathon (2011). It was her first full marathon and she rocked it! Kristie lives in Vegas and has run the half marathon for the last two years. Not only did she give a great recap of her event, she also brought a great perspective from a marathoner's point of view with the merging of the two events, the water situation and the cut-off times.
